Planning a pond can be easy and the results spectacular if
you follow our simple guidelines:
Find the best location
It's best to
site your pond where it will get partial shade and away
from trees or hedges which could drop leaves into the
water.
Choose a shape
Ponds can be
made to any shape to suit your garden - smooth curves or
regular shapes are the easiest.
Get the right depth
The
depth is influenced by what you're going to keep in your
pond - goldfish ponds can be 3ft deep whilst a
koi pond should be at least 4ft deep.
Decide the type of
construction
The most
popular option is using a pond liner - cost effective and long
lasting it lets you create the exact shape and style of pond
you want. Or you could build your pond from concrete - the
strongest type of foundation it requires careful planning and
construction.
