Vortec filters have a three-stage filtration process:
Vortex Chamber - removes heavy sediment
Mechanical filtration - brushes and/or foam
Biological filtration - anti-clog flocor media
All filters come with a slide valve assembly which lets you back-flush/clean the Vortex chamber and the brush chamber (12,000 model doesn't have a brush chamber). The Vortec is supplied pump-fed as standard, but if you would rather have gravity-fed just give us a call after you've placed your order and let us know.
