Robins tend to prefer open nesting sites and often use man made objects such as open boxes, kettles and teapots to nest inside, making this Teapot Nester a perfect habitat.
Site the Teapot Nester within some greenery or vegetation cover facing the teapot between north and southeast and between 1-2 metres high. The teapot can be fixed in two ways; it can either be screwed to a support through a hole in the base, or by using garden wire to pass through fixed holes and around the base of the handle, and then twisting around a strong support.
When the nester is in use by the robins, it will be lined with grass, moss and leaves. Clean the nester annually in the summer.
